Senior Manager, Investment Communications – Toronto, 16 York St. Full-time. The Senior Manager, Investment Communications will develop and execute investment communications strategies to strengthen IMCO’s position as an investment partner and asset manager of choice with current and potential co-investors and clients. Reporting to the Director, Investment & Executive Communications, this role differentiates and protects IMCO’s reputation as a straightforward, smart investor that puts clients’ interests first, and attracts top talent to enable our mission to be the asset manager of choice for Ontario’s public sector.
- As a Member of Our Team, You Will be Responsible For :
- Working closely with the Director, Investment and Executive Communications to develop and implement IMCO's investment communication plan, delivering a differentiated investor narrative that drives deal flow and supports strategic partner relationships and asset management activities across IMCO’s channels (web, social, email).
- Exercising strong project management to reposition external communications of IMCO's investment strategy, business model, investment performance, and value creation for investment partners, clients, and external stakeholders, aligning with the new people-led brand positioning.
- Acting as day-to-day lead with investment teams on all aspects of transaction communication to strengthen IMCO’s reputation as an investor of choice.
- Writing investor-focused news releases, executive scripts, and messaging documents to consistently drive awareness of IMCO’s value proposition to investors, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities and supporting investment leaders on external communications, including media training, public appearances, and speeches to increase their visibility in line with IMCO’s new people-led brand.
- Using content performance analytics to advise the Director on stakeholder perceptions and to optimize investment communications and thought leadership content development and execution.
- Managing the annual report production process across contributing functional groups, ensuring deadlines are met and contributing content to the annual report.
- Contributing to the strategy and growth of IMCO’s thought leadership activities, including client engagements, industry events, and IMCO initiatives, to support the people-led brand positioning.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with financial journalists to improve the quantity and quality of media coverage, and responding to questions and information requests.
- Collaborating with the Director to mitigate reputational risk and respond to issues, in coordination with relevant internal parties, to protect IMCO’s reputation as the asset manager of choice for Ontario’s public sector.
What you need to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, or related disciplines (MBA and/or CFA considered an asset).
- 8-10 years’ relevant experience in investor relations, finance, or asset management.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet tight deadlines. Project management skills are an asset.
- Experience interacting with investors and journalists; experience advising senior investment professionals.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work across functions with tact and a constructive, problem-solving mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including group presentations; strong writing ability to translate complexity into compelling stories.
- Proactive self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to handle pressure and manage multiple high-priority initiatives while maintaining high standards and deadlines.
- Creative team player who adapts to change and ambiguity; ability to think strategically and execute efficiently.
- Experience providing effective direction to vendors; fluency with LinkedIn and Canva is an asset.
