Our Global Mobility Services team specializes in providing compliance and consulting services to organizations with international workforces regarding Canadian and foreign personal income taxes, cross-border payroll, social security taxes, compensation design, policy frameworks, pension, and other related areas. We design sophisticated tax planning and compensation strategies to help such companies and their employees manage tax liabilities and operational expenses in the global business environment.

As part of our skilled team, you will be instrumental in delivering Canadian and US tax compliance and advisory services. This role involves managing a diverse client portfolio, fostering strong relationships, and applying expertise in cross-border tax issues to deliver innovative solutions that enhance our clients’ operations. You will also handle technical, administrative, and support functions related to managing our clients’ expatriate tax programs. The ideal candidate enjoys continuous learning and teamwork to deliver exceptional client service.

Our team is open to candidates located across British Columbia. We offer flexible remote and hybrid work arrangements.

What You Will Do
  • Lead client engagements and manage relationships to resolve complex tax technical challenges
  • Manage all aspects of international assignment programs
  • Provide advisory services based on deep understanding of global mobility taxation, tailored to client needs
  • Oversee tax compliance activities—individual tax returns, projections, tax equalizations, briefings, cross-border payroll
  • Review work of junior staff for accuracy and completeness
  • Explore and implement technology-driven solutions to improve efficiency and compliance, including leveraging AI
  • Support staff development through mentorship, focusing on career growth and ongoing learning

Business needs may require employees to work beyond normal hours, and our flexible approach supports this and personal matters.

What You Bring To The Role
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a public accounting firm specializing in personal Canadian tax and/or cross-border payroll; US tax knowledge is an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Highly motivated with a growth mindset
  • Commitment to high standards of client service and professionalism
  • Focus on quality and adding value
  • Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and computer skills
  • Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to motivate others and respond persuasively to challenging questions
  • Canadian or US accounting designation or professional license is a plus but not required
KPMG BC Region Pay Range

The expected base salary range is $102,500 to $200,000, potentially with bonuses. Salary within this range depends on location, skills, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
