Who we are looking for:

Are you a passionate fundraising professional eager to make a difference in cancer care within a collaborative team environment? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, is seeking a Senior Manager, Foundation Relations, to manage a portfolio of foundation and nonprofit supporters and prospects. This role involves identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with private foundations, public charities, community foundations, and nonprofit organizations.

This position is hybrid, based primarily in Alexandria, VA, with an expectation of onsite presence approximately 7-10 days per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work to increase revenues and participate in all aspects of the gift cycle, including pipeline management, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Support the Director of Foundation Relations in generating revenue, managing relationships, and developing proposals and reports.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of foundation supporters, building relationships with new supporters.
  • Research new foundation prospects and engage relevant divisions to review potential connections.
  • Contact current and prospective supporters through various means to initiate introductions and solicit gifts.
  • Assist in preparing solicitation materials, proposals, and agreements.
  • Develop donor briefing materials for meetings and site visits.
  • Manage grant reporting processes, including interim and final reports.
  • Support the Director in meeting and proposal preparations.
  • Maintain accurate records of interactions with supporters using the fundraising database.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring revenue plans and budgets.
  • Collaborate on creating and implementing stewardship plans.
  • Foster collaboration across divisions to achieve revenue goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • 6-7 years of progressive foundation fundraising experience, including grant proposal and report writing.
  • Proven success in securing five- and six-figure grants from foundation sources.

  • Ability to build rapport and cultivate relationships with donors.
  • Proven ability to increase gift and grant income from foundations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking, and proposal development skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with sound judgment.
  • Effective communication skills tailored to different audiences.
ADA/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Fast-paced office environment, prolonged periods seated or standing, high use of computer technology.

TRAVEL

Approximately 5-10 days per year.
