Your New Role
Reporting to the Controller, you will serve as the finance team's technical accounting expert, overseeing external reporting, compliance, tax, treasury, and governance activities across a complex multi-entity environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual external financial reporting, including IFRS-compliant consolidated financial statements.
- Conducting technical accounting research and providing guidance on new accounting standards and complex accounting matters.
- Supporting the integration of acquired entities and ensuring timely incorporation into the organization's financial reporting structure.
- Preparing reporting packages for directors, investors, lenders, and other stakeholders, including debt covenant compliance reporting.
- Managing corporate tax, indirect tax, and regulatory compliance requirements while partnering with external advisors as needed.
- Overseeing treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, debt administration, and working capital reporting.
- Acting as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax professionals during the annual audit process.
- Managing purchase price accounting, goodwill impairment analysis, and acquisition-related financial reporting requirements.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to a Tax Analyst while collaborating closely with FP&A, Operations, and senior leadership teams.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- CPA designation.
- 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
- Strong technical accounting expertise with advanced IFRS knowledge.
- Experience preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements.
- Experience working within multi-entity organizations and managing intercompany accounting.
- Strong understanding of corporate tax, indirect tax, financial compliance, and governance requirements.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work independently and act as a trusted subject matter expert.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Public accounting experience from a Big Four, national, or mid-market firm.
- A combination of public accounting and industry experience.
- Experience within healthcare, retail, multi-location, or other complex service-based environments.
- Exposure to acquisition integration and M&A-related accounting activities.
- Treasury, debt management, and covenant reporting experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
