What You’ll Do

In This Exciting And Multifaceted Role, You Will

  • Lead the delivery of Emergency Management (EM) services such as regulatory/response planning, software solutions, response training and exercises, and hazard/risk assessments.
  • Manage and develop a team of 3-7 individuals, focusing on project management and administrative support. Lead performance management discussions, provide mentoring, and ensure the continuous growth of team members through talent development initiatives.
  • Conduct gap assessments and program reviews of client emergency management programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Be available for afterhours response to support our customers during emergencies, leading Response Team functions.
  • Lead the preparation and delivery of technical reports, project proposals, technical correspondence, and work plans.
  • Drive business development efforts, including assisting with proposal pursuits and expanding relationships with both existing and new clients.
  • Manage project activities, including cost and budget tracking, scheduling, and client communication.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, researching and recommending best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of processes to ensure consistency of delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams across various business units and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Train and mentor junior staff to build the next generation of emergency management experts.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

We’re In Search Of a Forward-thinking Leader With

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in science/engineering (such as chemical, mechanical, environmental) or emergency management (with an industry focus).
  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in consulting/engineering/industrial Emergency Management roles.
  • Strong experience in talent management, including the ability to lead and support a team of 3-7 individuals, foster skill enhancement, and implement succession planning strategies to ensure a high-performance, well-supported work environment.
  • Experience in project management, including cost tracking, scheduling, and scope implementation.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing, and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work independently and drive projects forward.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Travel Requirements: Readiness to travel up to 25% of the time to support emergency management activities and client needs across various locations.
  • Emergency Call-out Flexibility: Flexibility to respond to emergency activations outside of regular working hours, ensuring prompt and effective support during urgent situations.
  • A valid driver’s license and passport.
  • Regulatory Experience: While not a requirement, strong knowledge and experience in the following regulatory areas would be considered a valuable asset for this role:
  • Emergency Response Plans for compliance and implementation.
  • Other Emergency-type Regulations related to industry-specific emergency management requirements, risk assessments, or regulatory compliance standards.
  • Experience in developing and implementing ICS management frameworks would be considered a valuable asset, as it contributes to building comprehensive and structured emergency response programs.
  • Previous experience conducting HRVAs would also be a strong asset.
