The role:

Provides strategic support for Global Technology Finance, Project Management Reporting function in Global Finance. The incumbent is responsible for contributing to the forecasting, variance analysis, GL accounting, governance of the strategic, regulatory and Currency initiatives within the bank’s Portfolio in support of the Bank’s business strategies and objectives.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
  • Responsible for reconciling financials for the Project Portfolio across the bank between CAPPM and the operating transits.
  • Review and submit GL entry adjustments to ensure financial transparency and accuracy.
  • Lead the maintenance and production of forecasting models and reporting decks used to prepare monthly/quarterly management financial reports to Technology and Business Line stakeholders.
  • Manage the all-bank asset amortization and depreciation forecasting, as well as overseeing the project flipping process.
  • Provide monthly variance analysis commentary and implement new initiatives to improve forecast accuracy.
  • Support executives with preparation of materials and adherence to portfolio governance processes.
  • Support strong financial discipline, and culture focused on prioritization and efficient use of resources, supporting achievement of Scotiabank financial targets, aligned with Enterprise targets.
  • Support the Director, EPDI Finance in various ad-hoc reporting and analyses.
  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders (CIO support FP&A teams, DPMO teams).
  • Communicate information to all necessary internal and external stakeholders, explaining financial transactions and resolving related issues.
  • Facilitate a customer focused culture with strong performance orientation and open communication.
  • Develop day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout the team.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A and financial forecasting experience.
  • Strong business acumen and organizational skills.
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal for interacting with offices with varying cross cultural and language differences.
  • Advanced leadership skills in Building Strategic Relationships and Customer Focus.
  • Desire to work in a hands‑on team environment.
  • Experience in CA PPM, Hyperion tool.
