Job Summary:
The Senior Manager, Digital Marketing, will lead a team responsible for designing, developing, and managing content to create exceptional user experiences for Direct Energy Canada. This includes enhancing customer self-service and account management features. Reporting to the Director of Brand Marketing and Creative, this role requires strong business acumen, analytical skills, and collaboration with internal teams and external vendors. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of digital marketing trends, tools, and analytics. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own the directenergy.ca website as the main product owner.
- Lead a team responsible for web management, content, email, and digital communications focused on customer-centric experiences.
- Develop governance and operational plans for all website properties to ensure collaboration, efficiency, and a seamless brand experience.
- Work with the Canada Leadership Team to achieve KPIs such as web enrollments, conversion rates, NPS, and customer communications.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Digital Operations, and IT teams to manage digital assets, drive growth, and optimize customer experiences.
- Build the website roadmap by engaging with senior leaders to align goals and create a cohesive plan, ensuring seamless online enrollment and account management processes.
- Oversee SEO, email marketing, and contribute to lifecycle marketing initiatives.
- Support new product launches and enhancements through collaboration with marketing, sales, and product teams.
- Work with stakeholders across Canada and internationally.
- Prioritize, negotiate, and remove obstacles to deliver data-driven, customer-focused, and ADA-compliant solutions.
- Develop and review business cases for digital initiatives.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring they stay on schedule, within scope, and budget.
- Create platform roadmaps, including IT requirements and support.
- Advocate for human-centered design and personalized user experiences.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms.
- Contribute to digital design and journey improvements, adopting a mobile-first approach.
- Collaborate with web leaders across NRG to improve functionality and design.
- Mentor team members to foster bold decision-making and innovation.
- Conduct user research and testing to enhance user experience.
- Coordinate with Operations, IT, and vendors to ensure platform performance.
- Stay current with UX trends and best practices.
- Monitor site performance metrics.
Working Conditions:
Hybrid work environment (office and remote), some overtime, and approximately 10% travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in technology (Computing Science, MIS) or business (BComm, Marketing) or related fields.
- 6-10+ years of web design/development experience across platforms.
- 3-5+ years managing web teams.
- Experience with enterprise CMS development and collaboration with development teams.
Skills and Experience:
- Leadership, collaboration, and communication skills with a focus on people development.
- Data analysis, dashboard creation, and trend identification skills.
- Understanding of user flows, wireframes, prototypes.
- Proficiency in web frameworks, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Experience with analytics, data-driven decision-making, A/B testing, SEO, and design tools like Figma.
- Knowledge of digital tools such as Adobe Experience Manager, Analytics, and others listed.
- Strong communication skills and experience in digital media.
- Exposure to AI, B2B, and small commercial markets is a plus.
- Effective virtual meeting management and time discipline.
