Job description

Head of Cyber Business Enablement

Reporting to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Head of Cyber Business Enablement is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring cybersecurity is embedded into CAE's business priorities, digital transformation initiatives, products, and growth strategies. This leader acts as a trusted advisor to senior executives and serves as the primary bridge between the business and the CISO Office. The role ensures that cybersecurity supports business objectives, enables innovation, strengthens customer trust, and helps the organization make informed, risk-based decisions. Leading the global Business Information Security Officer (BISO) function, the incumbent will drive business engagement, coordinate cybersecurity support across multiple teams, and promote the early integration of security into strategic initiatives, products, technology programs, partnerships, acquisitions, and customer‑facing activities.

Strategic Business Partnership

Define and execute CAE's Cyber Business Enablement strategy in alignment with business and cybersecurity objectives. Partner with executive leaders to provide practical, risk-informed cybersecurity guidance that supports decision-making, growth, and resilience. Represent the CISO, as appropriate, in strategic business discussions and enterprise initiatives, serving as a trusted cybersecurity advisor to senior leaders. Ensure cybersecurity considerations are integrated early into major business, technology, AI, partnership, M&A, divestiture, and transformation initiatives.

Business Engagement and BISO Leadership

Lead and develop the global BISO team and establish a consistent business engagement model across the organization. Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand priorities, risks, and growth objectives. Translate cybersecurity strategy and risk priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes in partnership with business leaders. Facilitate cybersecurity governance discussions and support business leaders in making informed risk acceptance, remediation, prioritization, and investment decisions. Maintain an enterprise view of business cybersecurity demand, emerging risks, strategic dependencies, and priorities requiring CISO or executive attention.

Product and Software Security Enablement

Partner closely with Product Security, Engineering, Architecture, and Technology teams to embed security throughout the product lifecycle. Promote secure‑by‑design practices and ensure cybersecurity requirements are considered early in product and software development initiatives. Support customer‑facing security requirements, regulatory obligations, and security assurance activities.

Cyber Transformation and Integration

Orchestrate cybersecurity engagement across strategic business and technology initiatives, ensuring the right cyber capabilities are engaged at the right stage. Connect business stakeholders with Cyber Operations, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Product Security, Architecture, and Program Management teams. Ensure smooth transition of security requirements into delivery, implementation, and operational ownership. Maintain visibility on strategic cyber risks, dependencies, and initiatives requiring executive attention.

Leadership and Performance

Lead a high‑performing team of BISOs, business engagement professionals, and cybersecurity integration resources. Establish measurable outcomes and performance indicators that demonstrate business value and cybersecurity impact. Provide executive-level reporting on cybersecurity priorities, risks, investments, and strategic outcomes. Represent CAE Cybersecurity with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders as required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, technology, risk management, product security, or related leadership roles.
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and influencing strategic business decisions.
  • Proven success leading multidisciplinary teams and driving organizational change.
  • Strong understanding of modern cybersecurity practices, software and product security, cloud environments, and technology transformation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical risks into clear business decisions.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Ability to build partnerships across business, engineering, technology, legal, privacy, audit, and compliance functions.
  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, collaborative, and results‑oriented approach.
  • CISSP, CISM, CRISC, or similar credentials.
  • Experience in aerospace, defence, software, industrial, or highly regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting product security, secure development, digital transformation, or enterprise‑scale cybersecurity programs.
