Job description

West Point Grey Academy is seeking a Senior Manager, Community Engagement beginning June 2, 2025. This is a full-time position, eligible for benefits.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Senior Manager, Community Engagement is passionate about education and understands the particular value of independent schools within the larger context of K-12 education. Personable with excellent communication and stewardship skills, they enjoy engaging with potential donors and thrive on helping donors and alumni find deeper connections with the WPGA community and make a true impact in the lives of students. They are highly detailed and understand the complexities of our industry, capable of transitioning from project management to hands-on approaches.

First Year Responsibilities

Alumni Relations Program

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive alumni program to re-engage and deepen involvement.
  • Develop strategies for alumni engagement through events, reunions, and volunteering opportunities.
  • Collaborate with school staff to maximize alumni involvement.
  • Plan and execute key alumni events annually.
  • Create a bi-annual alumni newsletter.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with alumni, providing regular updates.
  • Design infrastructure for an alumni association, including volunteer recruitment and strategic planning.

Stewardship & Communications

  • Work on overarching stewardship plans for donors and volunteers.
  • Create and support communication assets and community events.
  • Support fundraising communication pieces and video content.
  • Manage mailing assets for donor appreciation and campaigns.

Co-Curricular & Professional Growth

  • Model and promote core values and standards of behavior.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development.
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities.
