Job Description

Job Summary: Reporting to the Sr Director of Commercial Operations, the Senior Manager of Commercial Learning and Development (CL&D) will serve as the CL&D Business Partner for Canada, focusing on training needs in HIV, liver diseases, and oncology. Responsibilities include designing and managing comprehensive learning initiatives, leading the development and execution of the annual CL&D plan, and ensuring excellence and patient centricity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, develop, and execute the annual learning plan for the therapy teams.
  • Manage development and planning of training for new hires across sales, marketing, and cross-functional roles.
  • Integrate Gilead’s sales and competencies model into all training activities.
  • Collaborate with departments to develop training that enhances therapeutic expertise.
  • Oversee the Gilead Learning Management System (LMS) for content updates and innovation.
  • Develop training materials and manage projects with internal and external partners.
  • Support Sales Directors by managing coaching resources and reports.
  • Participate in digital transformation initiatives to implement innovative training solutions.
  • Partner with global teams to ensure local awareness and use of assets.
  • Conduct needs analysis, implement solutions, and embed certification and KPI strategies in training.
Knowledge And Skills

  • Understanding of sales training practices and procedures.
  • Ability to develop training plans, manage projects within budget and timeline.

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years in commercial training or health education.
  • At least 3 years of field sales experience.
  • Over 8 years in biotech or pharmaceutical industry, including product launches.
  • Expertise in adult learning and consultative selling; certification is a plus.
  • Experience in virology or oncology is preferred.
  • Experience in launch excellence and training is advantageous.
