Job summary

TD Insurance, part of TD Bank Group, seeks an Underwriting Manager for the Commercial Automobile line. You will develop and execute strategies to deliver premium and earnings goals and work with stakeholders across Canada to refine underwriting rules and wordings.

The role requires 7+ years in General Insurance underwriting, knowledge of wordings and endorsements, CIP/FCIP/CRM or in progress, and experience with provincial filings.

Qualifications

• 7+ years General Insurance experience in Commercial Automobile underwriting.
• CIP, FCIP, CRM or equivalent designation, or actively working towards an insurance designation.
• Experience developing and maintaining Commercial Insurance underwriting manuals – both internal and filed.
• Experience developing provincial regulatory underwriting filings for regulators.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain understanding of regulatory requirements, industry and customer trends, and competitive landscape and propose insurance contract changes accordingly for Canada-wide Commercial Automobile Products.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert for small business underwriting strategy, rules and coverage wordings-related inquiries.
• Drive the design and development of new underwriting rules to achieve business objectives.
• Develop provincial regulatory filings where applicable.
• Lead end-to-end management and refinement of small business underwriting strategy and rules to achieve business and financial objectives; lead discussions with multiple stakeholders on day-to-day initiatives.
• Provide policy wordings interpretation and coverage guidance to internal stakeholders.
