Spin Master is seeking a Sr. Manager, Business Insights to own the Looker strategy and dashboard ecosystem for our global Toy business.
You will lead a team of analysts to transform multi-channel toy data into actionable dashboards, empowering brand, sales, and supply chain teams to make data-driven decisions. The role requires 5+ years in BI/Analytics and 1–2 years in technical leadership, with strong SQL and Looker (LookML) expertise.
Are you a kid at heart looking to build a career with a leading global children's toy, entertainment and digital gaming company? At Spin Master, our unwavering commitment to open mindedness, integrity and innovation is a great part of what has made us an industry leader. How do we stay ahead of the pack? By hiring the best and brightest minds-and that’s why we want you!
What will you work on? We are looking for a strategic and technical Sr. Manager, Business Insights to own and drive the Looker strategy and dashboard ecosystem for our global Toy business. In this role, you will act as the principal architect and owner of our single source of business truth. You will lead a talented team of analysts to transform complex, multi-channel toy data (including retail POS, inventory, licensing, and digital engagement) into beautiful, actionable Looker dashboards that empower our brand, sales, and supply chain teams to make rapid, data-backed decisions.
Define, govern, and scale our global Looker semantic layer (LookML) architecture to ensure a single, consistent source of truth across the Toy division. Establish robust version control workflows, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and setting strict coding standards for all development.
Partner with engineering to optimize database performance, ensuring our underlying queries run efficiently and dashboards load instantly for business users.
Act as the product manager for our BI tools, translating abstract toy business needs into intuitive, standardized, and self-service dashboard products. Own the strategic dashboard roadmap, balancing sprint cycles, feature requests, and technical debt. Drive high user adoption and design and lead enablement programs to train brand managers, sales teams, and executives on how to leverage these tools to make data-driven decisions.
Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing team of BI analysts and data analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Oversee daily workflows, run code and design reviews, and establish standard operating procedures to keep projects on track. As a team leader, you will actively work to unblock technical hurdles for your team while aligning their personal career growth with our strategic objectives.
Partner closely with Brand Managers, Sales Leads, and Supply Chain teams to design and govern core KPIs tailored to the toy industry, such as product sell-through, weeks of supply, and marketing ROI. By aligning data infrastructure with seasonal toy launch cycles and retail promotional calendars, ensure our BI environment delivers the right insights at the exact moment key commercial decisions are being made.
5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, or Data Analytics, with at least 1-2 years in a technical leadership or mentoring capacity.
Proven experience in translating complex business requirements into clean, scalable semantic data models and intuitive dashboards. While hands-on experience with Looker (LookML) is highly valued, strong expertise in similar modern BI ecosystems is welcome.
Strong SQL skills (BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift). Experience with Git/version control workflows.
Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG), Toys, Retail, or Entertainment is highly preferred (understanding seasonality, POS data, and retail inventory metrics).
Outstanding communication skills—specifically the ability to translate highly technical data models into strategic insights for brand and creative leaders.
