Job summary

Tim Hortons Foundation Camps is seeking a Senior Manager for Atlantic Canada to serve as the regional face of the Foundation. You will lead end-to-end delivery of two signature programs—the Summer Camp and the In-School Program—while stewarding restaurant owner and stakeholder relationships and ensuring strong operational standards.

The role requires significant regional travel and on-site presence during camps and school seasons, with remote work possible outside peak periods.

Senior Manager, Atlantic Canada

Job Summary

The Senior Manager: Atlantic Canada serves as the regional face of the Foundation in their assigned geography. This role is accountable for the successful end-to-end delivery of the Foundation’s two signature programs—the Summer Camp and the In-School (Classrooms) Program—while stewarding Restaurant Owner and stakeholder relationships, representing the Foundation at regional events, and maintaining strong operational and administrative standards.

Work Location

During the summer camp season, typically from early June to late August, this role follows the camp schedule and is required to work on site at the Tim Horton Children’s Camp.

Outside the summer camp season, this role is based remotely in Atlantic Canada and requires regular travel throughout the region. Travel outside Atlantic Canada will also be required, including occasional trips to Base Camp in St. George, Ontario.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Summer Camp
  • Lead all aspects of summer camp operations, including site readiness, daily program supervision, and seasonal close-out.
  • Ensure all department-specific tasks are completed prior to season start (administrative, program, wellness, property and compliance readiness).
  • Lead, supervise, and troubleshoot program and site operations throughout the camp season.
  • Manage scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling of camp calendars.
  • Champion program fidelity and the signature site experience – including but not limited to Program Quality systems and program audits.
  • Oversee the annual property plan for the site, ensuring the effective management, maintenance, and operational readiness of facilities, grounds, and infrastructure in alignment with organizational standards and program needs.
  • Lead the Aramark relationship, ensuring strong partnership, effective service delivery, and alignment with camp operational needs.
In-School (Classrooms) Program
  • Oversee delivery of the In-School Program across the region, ensuring a consistent, high-quality program.
  • Lead, supervise, and troubleshoot program and regional operations throughout the In-School Program season
  • Manage classroom logistics: staff scheduling, cancellations, and rescheduling to meet reach targets.
  • Forge and maintain relationships with schools and educators in the region.
  • Ensure program fidelity and integrity across all classroom delivery – including Program Quality systems.
  • Track and ensure summer camper referral and reach targets are met.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train program staff for both Camp and Classroom programs.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, coaching, and performance support to all direct reports.
  • Manage and support direct reports: Program Leads, Property Managers, Camp Admin, and seasonal camp teams.
  • Lead the performance management process in the region, conducting semi-annual assessments for all staff and programs.
  • Liaise with subject matter experts (SMEs) and compliance functions as needed.
  • Establish and sustain a learning culture by implementing structures, frameworks, training, and professional development practices that support ongoing staff and team growth.
Restaurant Owner & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Host and coordinate Restaurant Owner visits to camp and classroom sites.
  • Represent the Foundation at regional marketing meetings and regional events.
  • Steward and grow relationships with key partners, including Indigenous, Metis and Inuit communities local to camp, BIPOC organizations, and strategic partners.
  • Build and maintain the regional Tims Camps alumni network.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional Foundation teams to ensure operational priorities serve high-impact youth experiences.
  • Ensure operationalization of and adherence to Foundation standards, policies, risk management practices, emergency procedures, and local operating procedures.
  • Ensure the site maintains camping association accreditation by meeting all required standards and successfully completing accreditation visits.
  • Drive continuous improvement of risk and compliance practices across all regional programs.
  • Ensure complete and accurate documentation for camp and classroom programming (wellness records, incident reports, administrative files, etc.).
  • Build and manage the regional budget (camp and classroom) in accordance with Foundation guidelines.
  • Build and manage the camp-specific capital plan and budget in accordance with Foundation guidelines.
  • Monitor ongoing expenditures and ensure spending remains within approved parameters.
  • Complete and monitor financial reporting, including budget forecasts, variance analysis, and timely updates on regional spending, risks, and required corrective actions.
  • Maintain and execute the camp and in-community programming calendars.
Qualifications & Experience
  • University degree and/or college background in Education, Outdoor Experiential Education or related field/similar experience. Bachelor of Education degree considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in program management, in youth development, education and/or camp-based setting. Experience in not-for-profit organizations considered an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including community partners, educators, youth development professionals and donors.
  • Experience managing budgets and financial reporting.
  • Experience with risk management practices and regulatory compliance in program environments, including but not limited to camp, recreation, child protection and education/curriculum.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak programming seasons.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain upon hire, current Standard First Aid/CPR-C certification.
  • Access to a personal vehicle and licensed with a valid G Class Driver’s License, or equivalent required.Must have an acceptable driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to travel within designated geographic area.
    • Occasional travel outside of immediate geographic region will be required.
  • Must have, or be able to obtain upon hire, the required level of third‑party vehicle liability insurance coverage for the role.
  • Are legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Able to provide an acceptable criminal background check or vulnerable sector check.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.
