Job summary

The Wickaninnish Inn is seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance team on the stunning West Coast of Vancouver Island. You will support guest-focused upkeep of guestrooms and public spaces, while contributing to landscaping, preventative maintenance, and building care—inside and out.

The ideal candidate brings 2+ years in maintenance, a valid BC Class 5 license, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience, hospitality preferred
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License with clean driving record
• Professional and groomed appearance
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs
• Comfort with indoor/outdoor environments in all weather
• Interest in gardening, landscaping, and preventative maintenance
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends
• Familiarity with HVAC including electrical circuitry
• Experience with power tools
• First Aid and Forklift/AWP certifications are an asset
• Red Seal or Trade Certification assets (Refrigeration, Gas Fitting, or Electrical)
• Familiarity with Excel, FileMaker Pro, and property management programs is an asset
• Commitment to the position for a mutually agreed period

Responsibilities

• Maintain guestrooms and public spaces and support daily operations
• Assist in landscaping and grounds maintenance
• Perform interior and exterior building maintenance
• Assist in preventative maintenance scheduling
• Maintain equipment and bicycle fleet
• Restore and repair furniture as needed
• Work outdoors across varying tasks and weather conditions
