Job summary

Buffalo Creek Mills is seeking an experienced maintenance leader to ensure peak operability of all plant equipment and maximize uptime by guiding the maintenance team and coordinating third-party services.

The role requires 7+ years in industrial maintenance, strong planning skills, and knowledge of HACCP and GMP practices. Salary ranges from $100,000 to $140,000 with full-time hours and a competitive benefits package in Manitoba.

Job Purpose:

The primary purpose of this position is to be responsible to maintain peak operability of all equipment and maximize uptime of all plant through the effective management of the maintenance team and third party service providers

.

Key Responsibilities:

• - Management of maintenance team
• - Proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform corrective and preventative maintenance on all plant equipment.
• - Develop proactive maintenance plans and procedures for all plant equipment
• - Operate and evaluate the performance of all of equipment
• - Take leadership role in maintaining and improving line efficiency
• - Assist in design and construction of plant expansions
• - Upgrade and fabricate machinery as required
• - Advise CEO of maintenance related capital expenditure requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• · A “safety first” orientation, with a demonstrated understanding of food safety and related safety equipment. Extensive knowledge of H&S programs such as Lock Out tag out, confined space, working from heights. Food safety knowledge including HACCP, GMP, GFSI-BRC/SQF, is an asset.
• · Strong planning and execution skills while also achieving high levels of efficiency and output. This includes a proven ability to prioritize day-to-day activities and longer-term initiatives, and to organize operations and resources for effective delivery.
• · Strong technical aptitude and a degree of mechanical knowledge of facilities and equipment
• · A strength in troubleshooting and root cause analysis, proactively applied to the achievement of zero losses and to minimizing break-down costs and consequences
• · Superior interpersonal, team building and communication (written, oral, presentation) skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within and beyond the organization including management, staff, vendors, customers, partners and other stakeholders.
• · Strong organizational and administrative skills and experience in developing and managing Maintenance budgets, forecasts, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).
• · Preference will be given to those applicants with a valid Industrial Mechanic certificate.
• · Willingness to upgrade technical skills as required.
• · An overall understanding of industrial electronics / controls or an electrical license is an asset.
• · Class 5 Power Engineer Certificate is an asset

Minimum Qualifications:

• · Minimum 7 years’ experience in industrial maintenance role. Preferably in a grain milling facility.
• · Familiar with standard shop tools and processes
• · Good communication skills and able to speak and read English.
• · Basic computer skills (Excel and Word)
• · Knowledge of HACCP, GMP and general food safety practices.
• · Ability to prioritize multiple requests
• · Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
• · Knowledge of TPM/OEE

Employment:

• · Full time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 4:00pm
• · Call-ins and Overtime are required.

Salary and Benefits:

• · Salary dependent experience with range of $100,000 to $140,000
• · Full time salary position based on 8 hour work day.
