PERSOLKELLY is seeking a Senior Mainframe Analyst / Programmer to join a Government Client based in Adelaide.

The Senior Analyst Programmer plans, coordinates, and delivers specialised technical systems analysis, design, development, and maintenance functions to ensure application quality. This includes enhancing existing applications or developing new complex systems.

The Senior Support Programmer reports to the Team Leader, Mainframe Applications.

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Plan, coordinate, and deliver expert data analysis, design, and modelling services for complex or business-critical applications.
2. Provide specialist advice on analysis, design, database access, programming, testing, and documentation.
3. Lead high-level systems analysis, design, and programming for complex applications.
4. Collaborate with Application Support Analysts to maintain application quality and availability, including production support.
5. Rectify complex system and application failures.
6. Review specifications and programming to ensure compliance with standards and methodologies.
7. Engage with users in developing new or enhanced systems throughout the full lifecycle.
8. Develop and plan application solutions based on functional and non-functional requirements, recommending options.

What are we looking for?

• Relevant degree in Information Technology or related field.
• At least six years of recent experience as a maintenance analyst/programmer in a mainframe Natural/Adabas or IDMS/ADSO/COBOL environment.
• Experience with programming languages, tools, and methodologies, including:
• Web service integration (REST/SOAP, WSDL, XML, Data Models)
• Oracle Fusion Middleware - Oracle SOA Suite 12c (BPEL, OSB, OWSM, etc.)
• RUP (Rational Unified Process)
• IDMS/ADSO/COBOL
• Eclipse, JDeveloper, SOAP, UI, Maven
• ADABAS/NATURAL
