Responsibilities:

• Partner with product, operations, or brokerage operations teams to develop working mathematical/scientific/ML solutions to their problems.
• Gain deep understanding of the problem and our data through either exploratory data analysis or communication with stakeholders
• Prove the solution by designing experiments that can be validated offline and/or online (A/B testing, etc..)
• Some potential problems that need to be solved are:
  • Intelligent buyer/seller + real estate agent matching algorithm
  • Predicting user intent, such as intent to buy or sell
  • Various real estate predictions, such as, housing sale price, square footage, property tax, etc..
• With the aid of your manager, plan launch phases of solutions, judging each phase by its effort vs impact.
• Able to communicate complex ideas logically and clearly, using data visualization, verbal, and/or oral communication.

Experience and qualifications:

• Masters or Ph.D. in math, science, engineering, statistics, or other quantitative fields
• 3+ years of professional experience in a data scientist/data analytic role having solved real business problems with math/science/ML
• Experienced with statistical concepts such as regression, properties of distribution, statistical tests and their proper usage and application.
• Experienced with regression/classification ML techniques, such as linear regression and tree-based algorithms (boosting, random forest, decision trees).
• Experienced with experiment design and A/B testing
• Experienced with SQL and Python, along with some data/math/ML/visualization frameworks such as sklearn, scipy, pandas, xgb/lgb/catboost, matplotlib/seaborn, etc..
• Preferred experience with NoSql databases such as Mongodb
• Preferred experience with dashboard/visualization tools such as data studio and/or google analytics 4
• Strong logical/critical thinking and verbal/written/visual communication skills
