Jabil is seeking a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer for LV switchgear in Prince George, VA. You will lead mechanical architecture, drive design governance, and guide validation from concept to production across global teams.

The role requires 12+ years in LV switchgear, strong CAD skills, and deep knowledge of standards. You will influence cost, manufacturability, and reliability while mentoring teams and shaping engineering best practices.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience in LV switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, or power distribution products.
• Senior technical leadership across multiple NPI programs and product platforms.
• Advanced CAD proficiency with Creo/SolidWorks/Inventor or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, busbar systems, and mechanical interfaces.
• Experience with FEA, CFD/thermal analysis, and mechanical validation planning.
• Familiarity with relevant standards (UL, IEC, NEMA, IEEE).
• Experience with PLM systems such as Windchill.

Responsabilidades

• Own and govern mechanical architecture strategy for LV switchgear and power distribution equipment.
• Translate requirements into scalable engineering specifications and roadmaps.
• Lead system-level architecture decisions for enclosure systems and interconnections.
• Define design criteria for structural integrity, tolerances, and serviceability.
• Guide thermal design, airflow, and thermal validation activities.
• Drive design for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and cost objectives.
• Oversee design transfer, manufacturing readiness, and change management.
• Support field troubleshooting and supplier technical issues.
