Job summary

Amica Bayview Gardens is seeking a Life Enrichment Coordinator to lead all community programming and supervise the enrichment team. You will implement engaging activities, manage the volunteer program, and work with staff to provide meaningful experiences for residents.

This role emphasizes creativity in activity design, ability to work independently, and a passion for inspiring seniors to pursue healthy, holistic lifestyles.

Qualifications

• Degree/diploma in Gerontology, Kinesiology, Therapeutic Recreation, Leisure Studies, Activation, Recreation, Sociology or Psychology or related discipline.
• Education/experience in geriatric programming in a related setting.
• Knowledge of exercise effects on age-related changes; able to develop/implement programs.
• Knowledge of adaptations for cognitive, physical, and sensory impairments.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Publisher, Excel, Internet).
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Smart Serve/Serving it Right and Food Handlers/Food Safe certifications.
• Ability to meet physical demands (lifting, portering, leading multiple programs).
• Valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain.
• Familiarity with community resources and provincial OHSA Act.
• Experience inspiring adults to lead a healthy lifestyle.
• Creative program development and event design.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate all community programming.
• Supervise Life Enrichment Assistant(s) and Volunteer Program.
• Engage residents to promote a healthy, holistic lifestyle.
• Collaborate with staff to deliver engaging activities and events.
