Job summary

Atria Retirement Canada is seeking a dedicated porter to support the community by keeping offices, apartments, and common areas clean and well-maintained. You will handle floor care, trash removal, and grounds upkeep across various areas of the community.

The role requires ability to follow safety instructions, perform basic maintenance, and work flexible shifts. Training is provided to ensure high standards of cleanliness and resident satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must successfully complete all Atria specified training programs.
• Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's using US units of currency and measurements.
• Able to work in standardized situations with occasional variables.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape tools and light power tools.
• Porters must understand English well enough to read and comply with safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning services for community offices, apartments, and public areas in a safe, neat condition.
• Perform floor care for carpet, tile, and wood floors including vacuuming and cleaning.
• Collect and remove trash and debris from community areas.
• Maintain grounds including sidewalks and garden areas in a neat condition.
• Perform basic maintenance requests as needed.
• Mow lawns, trim shrubs, and cultivate flowers as assigned.
• Report repairs or unsafe conditions to management promptly.
