Job summary

Atria Senior Living in Ottawa, Ontario, is seeking a Porter/maintenance associate to keep the community clean, safe, and attractive for residents and guests.

You will perform cleaning, floor care, trash removal, grounds maintenance, and basic repair tasks across offices, apartments, and common areas. The role requires basic arithmetic, safety-focused work, flexible shifts, and a commitment to quality work with training provided.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Atria training programs.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic using US currency and units.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts.
• Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape tools.
• Read and follow safety instructions for caustic materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning services for offices, apartments, and common areas.
• Provide floor care for carpet, tile, and wood floors.
• Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
• Maintain grounds, sidewalks, and building exteriors.
• Perform basic maintenance related work requests.
• Mow lawn, trim shrubs, and cultivate flowers (varies by community).
• Notify management regarding repairs.
• Report unsafe conditions to Supervisor.
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in work.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
