Job summary

Atria Retirement Canada in Brandon, MB, is seeking a diligent Porter/Maintenance to keep our community clean, safe, and welcoming for residents. You will handle indoor cleaning, floor care, and exterior grounds work, with opportunities to learn basic maintenance and participate in a team-driven environment.

The role requires basic math, ability to follow safety instructions, and flexibility to work varying shifts. Training is provided; robust benefits accompany employment.

Qualifications

• Must complete all Atria training programs.
• Able to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10s and 100s; use US currency units.
• Able to handle standardized situations with minimal variables.
• Able to work various schedules and shifts as needed.
• Able to safely use basic maintenance and landscape tools; power tools included.
• Porters must understand safety instructions about caustic materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide cleaning for offices, apartments, and community areas in a safe, neat condition.
• Perform floor care: carpet, tile, wood, vacuuming, buffing, sealing, stripping.
• Compact and remove trash and debris from community areas.
• Maintain grounds: sidewalks, walkways, exteriors, and garden areas.
• Notify management regarding repairs; report unsafe conditions promptly.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
