Job summary

Atria Retirement Canada is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare and present meals to residents in our community. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure dining programs meet high standards and residents are satisfied with food quality and service.

Responsibilities include maintaining a clean, safe kitchen, following recipes and menus, and assisting with special events. A positive, team-oriented attitude and reliable performance are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• English communication skills with residents and staff (oral and written).
• 1–3 years cooking experience in hospitality or healthcare setting.
• Food handler permit as required by provincial law and/or company standards.
• Able to read and follow recipes, production guides, cleaning schedules and logs.
• Knowledge of food handling, preparation, cooking and service.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in the community ensuring meals meet company standards.
• Work with Executive Chef/Director to satisfy residents' dining expectations.
• Maintain clean, safe and sanitary kitchen and storage areas at all times.
• Open and/or close the kitchen as required; adhere to cleaning schedules.
• Ensure food is received, stored and prepared according to standards.
