Job summary

Amica Aurora Promenade in Canada is seeking a Life Enrichment Assistant in a casual, on-site role. The position involves supporting engaging recreation programs, communicating daily activities, and building connections with residents and families.

The role requires a background in gerontology or related fields, with driving responsibilities and the ability to lead multiple fitness programs. A valid driver’s license and first aid certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Gerontology, Therapeutic Recreation, Activation, Recreation, Sociology or Psychology preferred.
• Education/experience in geriatric programming is asset.
• Knowledge of wellness dimensions and adaptations to programming.
• Ability to meet physical demands including lifting and leading multiple fitness programs.
• Valid driver’s license and/or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery and facilitation of a variety of programs and events.
• Create daily activity communications.
• Build connections with residents, families, and team members.
• Drive the bus for resident outings in the community.
• Support completion of administrative tasks.
