Job summary

Qualifications

• College diploma in Recreation, Leisure Studies, Gerontology or equivalent is required.
• Previous experience with seniors is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and basic records management.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, organizing and implementing meaningful programs for residents with the team.
• Maintain department records including assessments and evaluations of activities.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, volunteers and staff.
• Attend in-service education to stay updated on elder care trends.
• Participate in team meetings to plan resident-centered activities.
• Facilitate scheduled outings and assist with activity assessments.
• Prepare, carry out and evaluate daily activities; assist with meals as needed.
• Work in a trustworthy role with vulnerable adults and provide coverage at front desk.
