Wind River is seeking a Senior Technical Writer (P3) with strong Linux expertise to craft high-quality documentation for Wind River Linux and eLxr. The role involves collaborating with engineers and product managers, validating procedures in Linux environments, and delivering modular, reusable content using DITA CCMS and Git-based workflows.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in technical writing in software or systems, hands-on Linux knowledge, and experience with Sphinx/reStructuredText.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of technical writing experience in software, systems, or infrastructure domains.
• Strong, hands-on Linux experience (administration, kernel concepts, package management, services, networking, troubleshooting).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Experience with DITA-based CCMS (Ixiasoft or similar).
• Experience with docs-as-code workflows (Git, CI/CD).
• Experience with Sphinx and reStructuredText.
• Familiarity with container-based deployment (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Able to work in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to document Wind River Linux and eLxr.
• Create deeply technical, task-oriented docs covering installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Linux-based systems.
• Validate procedures in Linux environments and reproduce workflows to ensure accuracy.
• Author, structure, and maintain content in a DITA CCMS (Ixiasoft) and in Git with reStructuredText/Sphinx.
• Align documentation with Agile release cycles for product deliveries.
• Engage with SMEs and participate in technical reviews to incorporate feedback from distributed teams.
