Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced linehaul leader to oversee all linehaul operations across our network, driving safe, efficient, and cost-effective freight movement. You will develop strategies, optimize routes, and manage budgets to maximize profitability and service quality.

In this role you will monitor key metrics, lead dispatch and planning teams, review carrier contracts, and partner with operations and sales to align capacity with demand.

Qualifications

• Progressive transportation operations experience in LTL/freight/logistics.
• 3–5 years in a leadership role overseeing linehaul or network operations.
• Strong understanding of LTL networks, dispatch, routing, and fleet management.
• Proven ability to lead large operational teams in fast-paced environments.
• Strong financial acumen and budget management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee linehaul operations to ensure safe, efficient movement of freight.
• Develop and execute linehaul strategies aligned with growth objectives.
• Optimize routes, schedules, load factors, and network capacity.
• Monitor key metrics including on-time performance, fuel efficiency, and driver productivity.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the linehaul network.
• Collaborate with operations and sales to align capacity with demand.
• Review and approve carrier contracts, rates, and agreements.
• Provide leadership and coaching to dispatch, planners, supervisors, and staff.
• Develop and maintain operational reporting and KPI dashboards.
