Oxford Learning Ocean Park is seeking a part-time Senior Level Math Teacher-Tutor for Grades 11-12 in Surrey, BC. The role requires teaching complex topics like advanced functions, calculus, and vectors, with after-school hours and occasional Saturdays.

Position Overview

Part-time Senior Level Math Teacher-Tutor (Grades 11-12). Motivated by mathematics? Excited by equations? Eager to help students succeed? Oxford Learning Ocean Park is looking for an upbeat, reliable, enthusiastic, dynamic instructor to work in a rewarding teaching environment. Candidates must possess a strong background in Math and be comfortable teaching students in Grades 11-12 at all levels, including advanced functions, calculus, and data management.

Position Requirements

All Teacher-Tutors work after-school and evening hours (3:00pm-7:00pm) and some Saturdays (10:00am-3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through summer is even better. The role is in-person; relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
• Fourth-year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
• Teaching certification is an asset

Experience

• Some experience teaching or tutoring math at a Grade 11-12 (or equivalent) level
• Strong English written and oral communication skills
• Strong math skills and ability to guide students’ understanding
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time

Job Details

Job Type: Part-time
Salary Range: $18-$20 per hour
Schedule: Evenings, Monday to Friday, Saturday availability
