Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Dorval, QC is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead operations and supply chain contracting. You will draft agreements, negotiate with suppliers, and guide commercial and contractual strategies across the organization.

The role requires strong English/French proficiency, North American Bar membership, and a track record in risk management within a fast-paced aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Experience in supply chain and procurement is an asset.
• Member in good standing of a North American Bar for a minimum of 7 years; training or experience in common law is an asset.
• Fluent in French and English (spoken and written); Spanish is an asset.
• Sound judgment and strong business sense; able to deliver value-added advice and innovative solutions.
• Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in strategic meetings as a business partner for Bombardier's operational teams.
• Draft agreements and support your internal clients in negotiations with suppliers.
• Act as a reliable partner to help elaborate and develop commercial and contractual strategies.
• Provide guidance and legal opinions on contract provisions and issues affecting day-to-day supplier relationships.
• Involved in claims management, including reviewing and negotiating settlement agreements.
• Proactively manage risk through training and coaching of business partners and through contract governance processes.
• Help to identify and adopt best industry practices for aerospace procurement contracts.

What are your contributions to the team?

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation;
• Experience in the area of supply chain and procurement will be considered an asset;
• You are a member in good standing of a North American Bar for a minimum of 7 years. Training or experience in common law will be considered an asset;
• You have excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to work fluently in both French and English (spoken and written); Spanish is an asset.
• You have sound judgment, coupled with good business sense, allowing you to provide efficient and value-added advice and innovative solutions; and
• You have the ability to operate and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
