Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our Administrative Centre in Canada. You will draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts, advise internal teams and help shape procurement strategies for aerospace operations.

Fluency in French and English, 7+ years of experience and North American Bar admission are essential. You'll participate in strategic meetings, manage risk, and provide practical legal guidance to suppliers and internal partners in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Experience in supply chain and procurement is an asset.
• Member in good standing of a North American Bar for 7+ years; common law training/experience is an asset.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills; fluent in French and English (spoken and written).
• Spanish is an asset.
• Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Participate in strategic meetings as a business partner for Bombardier’s operational teams.
• Draft agreements and support internal clients in negotiations with suppliers.
• Act as a reliable and knowledgeable partner of choice to help elaborate and develop commercial and contractual strategies.
• Provide guidance and legal opinions on contractual provisions and issues impacting Bombardier’s supplier relationships.
• Involved in claims management, including reviewing and negotiating settlement agreements.
• Proactively manage risk through training and coaching of business partners and through governance processes.
• Help to find and integrate best industry practices for negotiating and drafting aerospace procurement contracts.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a minimum of 7 years of experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation;
• Experience in the area of supply chain and procurement will be considered an asset;
• You are a member in good standing of a North American Bar for a minimum of 7 years. Training or experience in common law will be considered an asset;
• You have excellent drafting and communication skills, with the ability to work fluently in both French and English (spoken and written); Spanish is an asset.
• You have sound judgment, coupled with good business sense, allowing you to provide efficient and value-added advice and innovative solutions; and
• You have the ability to operate and deliver results in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
