Job summary

Desjardins seeks a senior legal affairs advisor to protect the organization's legal interests and ensure regulatory compliance. You will support procurement, technology and digital development teams and manage interactions with external parties and outside counsel.

You will draft opinions, review agreements, monitor regulatory changes and help prepare materials for decision-making bodies. Fluency in French and strong English skills are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in law is required.
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience, including two years in information technology.
• Member of the Quebec Bar.
• Knowledge of French is required; advanced English proficiency is expected.

Responsibilities

• Issue legal opinions and draft/validate business agreements impacting the organization.
• Analyze, interpret and monitor changes to applicable legislation and regulations.
• Represent the organization or negotiate with external organizations or partners.
• Coordinate mandates entrusted to outside attorneys.
• Help draft files for the organization's decision-making bodies.
