Job summary

Elk Valley Resources (EVR) seeks a Senior Lead, Regulatory Approvals to direct the SERA component of major mining projects. You will lead complex permitting, environmental assessments, and engagement with Indigenous groups, government partners and stakeholders.

The role offers a compressed work week with alternating Fridays off, based in the Elk Valley area or Calgary, AB, and includes a strong compensation package and relocation support.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental science or engineering required.
• Minimum eight years leading regulatory approvals in natural resources/mining.
• Strong understanding of provincial and federal regulatory approvals practices (BC focus).
• Ability to lead consultants and collaborate with government, Indigenous groups and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of regulatory strategies, baselines, environmental assessments and permit applications for major projects.
• Oversee regulatory review and engagement processes for water quality mitigation or mine development.
• Guide multi-disciplinary teams and interface with engineers and subject matter experts.
• Ensure alignment with Indigenous agreements and EVR environmental programs.
• Mentor junior regulatory staff and manage budgets, schedules, and scopes.
