Job description

Senior Landscape Designer (Sales)

Company: Hutten & Co. Land and Shore, N4K 5N5

  • Located in Owen Sound – enjoy living and working in Ontario’s recreational hub, year round
  • $5,000 Relocation assistance provided
  • $35 - $45+ / hour, plus commission
  • Profit sharing, matching RRSP, medical benefits, and starting 5 weeks paid time off
  • Laptop and smartphone provided
  • Opportunity to work on award-winning projects, while achieving personal and career growth with a fantastic team

It’s not every day you come across an opportunity to work with a company you can feel good about – in a rewarding environment, working towards a clear and exciting vision, as part of an optimistic, hardworking, and high performing team.

As a member of our Design Team, you love leading clients down a creative process to help them build their dreams. You’re a great listener and naturally build relationships. Details are important to you and you’re confident with landscape building techniques. You are results-oriented and embrace performance goals. And of course, you create exceptional designs of outdoor spaces.

From creative craftsmanship in stone and wood, delicate plantings, casual outdoor living, environmental shore solutions, and docking systems, at Hutten & Co. Land and Shore we create refreshing spaces that connect our rugged land and shores into a place of natural beauty. It’s not easy work, but the satisfaction is huge.

We love what we do and want like-minded people to join our team. So, if you’re looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your landscape design career, look no further. We have an exciting vision, strong growth goals, and an established client base.

Responsibilities:

As our new Landscape Designer, you will be responsible for concept and detail design, sales and client care, consulting and qualifying, and building proposals.

If you were working for us, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Concept and Detail Design: You'd be designing residential landscapes, preparing construction and planting details and creating 3D renderings, while ensuring property bylaws limitations and client budget are met.
  • Sales and Client Care: You'd be actively communicating with the client throughout the design process, presenting design and construction proposals, while participating with the design team in meeting sales goals.
  • Consulting and Qualifying: You’d manage incoming leads, consult on design services, uncover design opportunities, and solve site issues; you’d measure properties and document information for the design process.
  • Build Proposals: Together with our estimator, you’d prepare design takeoffs and construction proposals, ensure pricing meets company guidelines, and provide detailed handoffs to the project management team.

Success in this role will be about so much more than just great design. Just as importantly, it will be about making our customers happy by bringing their visions to life, while contributing to our team’s growth and people-focused culture.

This is an incredible opportunity for someone looking to grow in their career, challenge themselves and take accountability, all while gaining leadership experience.

Working @ Hutten & Co. Land and Shore:

We expect strong performance and participation, and in return, work hard to make employment here an exceptional career experience. We offer strong coaching and training, team collaboration, an open-book management style, and we celebrate wins together regularly with quarterly parties and company BBQs!

The Details:

This is a full-time permanent job, working mainly in Owen Sound, Ontario. When you’re not in the office, you’ll travel to job sites in the surrounding areas.

We recognize that our ideal candidate may come from outside the area, and so relocation assistance is available. If you’re interested in getting away from expensive city living, and the idea of living and working in Ontario’s recreational hub excites you, this could be a perfect opportunity to relocate and take advantage of all that Georgian Bay living has to offer.

Qualifications:

Ideally, here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in design work at a design build company
  • Diploma in Landscape Design or Degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Expertise in Horticulture
  • Experienced and confident with landscape construction methods
  • Fluent in AutoCAD and Sketchup
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and can multi-task
  • Results oriented and performance-driven

And if you have the following it would be a bonus:

  • Sales training

How to Apply:

We strive to build a team of like-minded individuals who share our values and vision for the future, and look forward to seeing your application!
