Job summary

SGS is seeking a Senior Lab Technician in Canada to prepare samples with accuracy according to SOPs, and to perform basic instrument operation. You will work independently and as part of a team to meet targets while ensuring hold times and turnaround times are met.

You will train Lab Associates and Technicians, support the Supervisor with investigations, perform routine calibration of prep instruments, maintain safety practices, and assist with analysis and reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of relevant laboratory experience (required).
• 4-5 years of relevant laboratory experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples with accuracy and precision per SOPs and load onto instruments.
• Train Lab Associates and Technicians and support Supervisors.
• Perform routine instrument operation and calibration of prep equipment.
• Ensure quality verifications and adherence to safety practices.
• Maintain Laboratory Notebook and manage inventory of chemicals and consumables.
• Draft analytical reports and assist with validation activities.
