Job summary

SCR Mining and Tunnelling L.P. is seeking a Jumbo Operator/Development Leader for a full-time role based in Bissett, Manitoba. The position operates on a 2 Weeks On / 2 Weeks Off rotation, with camp accommodation and meals provided to support remote site work.

You will inspect and operate jumbo drilling equipment, assess ground conditions, plan holes, maintain equipment, and complete daily logs. Leadership, safety adherence and ability to follow site procedures are essential for success in this

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Jumbo Drill machine in the mining field.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Positive attitude with the ability to lead and work collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect, sound, scale and wash down work area; check for bootlegs and missholes; flag lifters; add or repair vent tubing.
• Assess ground conditions at the face and implement ground control according to site requirements.
• Extend grade and centre line; mark face for drilling; circle bootlegs; maintain hanging wall and foot wall.
• Capable of jackleg and/or stopper drilling as needed.
• Determine location, spacing, depth and inclination of holes.
• Perform minor repairs, such as changing striker bars, couplings, water tubes and hose clamps.
• Complete daily logbooks on equipment and submit written and verbal reports to supervisor.
• Load, prime, time, connect and test blasting circuit.
• Place guards at all entrances to the blast; blast according to project standards and remove guards after blasting.
• Maintain working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Must be able to understand written and verbal instructions and follow proper safety procedures.
