• Proficiency with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.

Senior Java Full Stack Developer

About the role

As a Senior Java Full Stack Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and supporting scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications that power critical banking services. You will be a valued member of our application development team and work collaboratively with architects, product owners, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative digital solutions.

In this role, you will

• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based microservices and REST APIs using modern architectural principles.
• Build scalable cloud-native applications that deliver high availability, resiliency, and low-latency performance.
• Develop and enhance front-end applications using Angular or React while ensuring seamless integration with backend services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support solution design, proof-of-concepts, and technology modernization initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement through DevOps practices, automation, monitoring, performance optimization, and knowledge sharing.

What you need to have to be considered

• 7+ years of experience designing and developing enterprise applications using Java.
• Strong expertise with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
• Proven experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, and domain-driven solutions leveraging Hexagonal Architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies such as Angular or React.
• Strong understanding of OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), application security, and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Jenkins, and automated testing.
• Proficiency with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

These will help you stand out

• Experience building highly resilient, customer-facing applications in mission-critical environments.
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, observability frameworks, and application monitoring solutions.
• Experience with Dynatrace, Splunk, Datadog, or similar performance and log management tools.
• Familiarity with resilience patterns, including Circuit Breaker design patterns.
• Experience troubleshooting cloud-based distributed systems and performance bottlenecks.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and passion for continuous learning and innovation.
• Experience participating in solution architecture discussions, design thinking workshops, and proof-of-concept initiatives.

Salary and Other Compensation

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between $60,300 – $95,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
