Axelon Services Corporation is hiring for a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and enhance Market Risk applications in a hybrid setup based in Montreal. Work with an Agile squad across global locations and contribute to DevOps-enabled delivery.

The role requires 5+ years of Java/Spring experience, Spark and Python expertise, strong OO design skills, and the ability to work independently while following coding standards. Knowledge of risk systems and testing is a plus.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Java (server-side) with Spring and RDBMS.
• Experience with distributed data processing using Apache Spark and Python.
• Strong OO design, data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
• Experience building multi-threaded applications and concurrency.
• Proficiency in scripting languages: Shell, Perl, or Python.
• Agile development experience and DevOps practices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently following coding standards.
• Unit testing with JUnit.

Responsibilities

• Develop new and enhance existing Market Risk applications.
• Participate in an Agile squad with members located in Montreal, Budapest, India, London, and New York, following Agile principles and applying DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with business partners to shape the tooling and technology landscape of Risk Management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Core-Java (server-side), Spring, and RDBMS.
• Experience with distributed data processing pipelines using Apache Spark, Python, and other tools and languages.
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills, data structures and algorithms, and design patterns.
• Understanding of building multi-threaded applications and hands-on experience with concurrency packages.
• Excellent critical thinking and analytical ability.
• Experience in building and supporting applications through basic prompt, data context management, and foundational model testing.
• Incorporate unit test cases when designing systems using Junit.
• Strong experience with relational databases logical modeling.
• Ability to query large relational databases in an optimized manner.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, or Python.
• Agile Development Experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently following proper coding standards.

Preferred Skills

• Risk/Financial Systems development experience.
• Experience with automated testing.
