Axelon Services Corporation is seeking a senior Java-focused engineer to develop and enhance Market Risk applications in a Hybrid work setting. You will join an Agile squad distributed across Montreal, Budapest, India, London, and New York to deliver robust risk tooling.

Ideal candidates bring 9+ years in Core-Java with Spring, strong data processing skills, and a proactive mindset for meeting regulatory obligations within a global finance environment.

Formación

• 9+ years of hands-on Core-Java server-side development.
• Experience with Apache Spark and Python in data processing pipelines.
• Strong OO design, data structures, and design patterns.

Location: Montreal
Work Mode: Hybrid (3x/week in-office presence required)

Responsibilities

• Develop new and enhance existing Market Risk applications.
• Be part of an Agile squad with members in Montreal, Budapest, India, London, and New York, following Agile principles and applying DevOps practices.
• Collaborate with business partners to shape the tooling and technology landscape of Risk Management.
• Introduce tools enabling better business processes required for meeting the company's regulatory obligations.

Requirements

• Minimum 9 years hands-on experience with Core-Java (server-side), Spring, RDBMS.
• Experience with distributed data processing pipelines using Apache Spark, Python, and other tools and languages.
• Strong object-oriented design and development skills, data-structures and algorithms, and design patterns.
• Understanding of building multi-threaded applications and hands-on experience with concurrency packages.
• Excellent critical thinking & analytical ability.
• Experience with relational databases logical modelling and querying large relational databases in an optimized manner.
• Ability to write scripts in Shell/Perl/Python.
• Agile Development Experience.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently following proper coding standards.

Preferred Skills

• Risk/Financial Systems development experience.
• Automated testing.
