Job summary

Prophix Software Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Back-End Engineer (Java/OLAP) to own the Java-based OLAP engine in Prophix One. You will design, optimize, and scale cube capabilities, working closely with a .NET team to ensure compatibility and performance at scale.

You will profile JVM performance, implement robust tests, and contribute to caching and data integration strategies. This role offers Canada-based work with global impact and a strong emphasis on responsible AI use.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Java development with production JVM OLAP or multi-dimensional engines.
• Deep knowledge of dimensions, hierarchies, measures, and aggregation semantics.
• Experience profiling JVM apps for latency and throughput in production.
• Ability to design evolving service contracts across language boundaries (.NET).
• Unit and integration testing in an agile, test-driven environment.
• Fluency with Git and CI/CD workflows.
• Degree in CS/Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Willing to use AI tools responsibly to assist tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize OLAP cube capabilities in Java and Atoti/real data volumes.
• Own performance-critical paths: member selection, calculations, and data write/merge.
• Collaborate with .NET Cube module team on dimension/conversion and cache strategy.
• Investigate and resolve OLAP defects, including hierarchy and boundary cases.
• Profile and tune cube query performance as models scale in size.
• Define contracts between cube engine and .NET/Postgres consumers.
• Write thorough unit and integration tests for cube logic.
