Job summary

Simons is seeking a Senior IT Technician to provide technology support to store and corporate teams, ensuring business continuity and reliable systems. The role emphasizes on-site intervention with quick incident response in a busy retail setting.

Ideal candidates bring 5–8 years of technical support experience, a DEC, and strong Windows/M365 skills. You will collaborate across departments and occasionally work outside standard hours to maintain operations.

Qualifications

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in technical support, including significant retail experience.
  • College diploma in Computer Science (DEC).
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows environments, Microsoft 365, and collaboration tools (Teams, Outlook, OneDrive).
  • Experience with ticketing and documentation tools (JIRA, Confluence, or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make decisions in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and application support to users.
  • Support operations related to enterprise systems.
  • Independently diagnose and resolve issues with workstations, software, peripherals, and in-store equipment.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT and operational equipment (POS terminals, computers, printers, etc.).
  • Respond quickly to critical incidents to minimize impacts on sales and the customer experience.
  • Manage support requests through a ticketing system and ensure thorough follow-up.
  • Document interventions, solutions, and procedures in the knowledge base.
  • Manage user accounts and access in accordance with security standards.
  • Keep equipment inventory up to date.
  • Apply and enforce cybersecurity best practices in a retail environment.
  • Escalate complex issues with proactive ownership and follow-up.
  • Recommend improvements to support processes, tools, and methods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with different departments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both French and English, in order to ensure follow-up with various stakeholders across the country.
  • Occasional availability outside regular working hours, as required.
