The Government of the Northwest Territories (GNWT) is seeking a Senior IT Support Administrator to join the Technology Service Centre (TSC) team in Yellowknife. This advanced Tier 3 support position plays a critical role in ensuring that over 6,000 GNWT employees, including those in healthcare, education, and other essential services, have the secure, efficient, and reliable digital tools they need to serve residents of the Northwest Territories.

In this role, you'll operate at the heart of the GNWT's enterprise IT infrastructure, providing expert technical analysis, troubleshooting, implementation, and continuous improvement for all end-user IT systems. You will take the lead in designing and maintaining workstation environments and ensuring that desktop and laptop systems are secure, up-to-date, and performing at their best. You will also be the go-to expert for resolving complex escalated issues and making rapid, high-impact decisions that can affect service delivery across the territory.

The position goes beyond break/fix support: you will help shape deployment strategies, create and maintain imaging and automation scripts, optimize system performance, and collaborate on organization-wide IT initiatives. As a senior member of the team, you'll support IT projects, influence infrastructure strategy, and mentor junior staff to help elevate the performance of the broader support team.

Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and three years of related experience in the IT industry; or equivalencies can include:

• Diploma in Telecommunications, Engineering, Network Administration/Systems Technology or Information Technology/Computer Science and 5 years of related IT experience
• Masters in Telecommunications, Engineering, Network Administration/Systems Technology or Information Technology/Computer Science and 1 year of related IT experience
