Job summary

BDO Canada in Montreal is seeking an IT Audit professional to perform IT General Controls assessments for financial statement audits and develop working papers. You will collaborate with Managers to scope, budget, and review junior auditors’ files, while reviewing controls across varied environments.

You will develop deliverables, advise on improvements, support business development, and maintain a proactive, client-focused approach to deliver high-quality service.

Qualifications

• CPA designation completed or in progress.
• At least 2 years of external audit experience.
• Bilingual in English and French for diverse client interactions.
• Experience in IT security or network operations is an asset.
• Working towards ISACA's CISA designation.
• Desire to provide outstanding client service and teamwork.
• Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Your Opportunity

• Perform assessments of IT General Controls for purposes of financial statement audits and prepare appropriate working papers, including gathering information around understanding the client's IT environment and requesting data to support these activities.


• Collaborate with Managers to scope, budget, and ultimately review files prepared by junior IS/IT auditors.


• Review, document, evaluate, and test business processes and internal controls for design and operational effectiveness in a wide range of environments and industries.


• Develop client deliverables, including risk assessments, analyses, recommendations, and reporting documentation.


• Provide clients advice regarding recommendations for improvement.


• Collaborate with engagement teams to establish timelines and ensure high quality client service.


• Assist Managers with business development proposals on existing/new clients.


• Maintain a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and present complex ideas through clear communications.


• Build positive working relationships with clients and identify improvements for future assignments.

Your experience and education

• You have completed your CPA designation or are in the porcess of completion.


• You have at least 2 years of professional experience in external audit.


• Bilingual in English and French due to the frequent and complex contact with our English-speaking partners and clients in Quebec and outside of Quebec, and the need to draft documents in English, knowledge of English is essential for this position.


• Experience in IT security or network operations would be considered an asset.


• Working towards or planning to work towards ISACA's Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation


• You have a desire to provide outstanding client service and a commitment to teamwork


• You display strong problem solving, analytical, and communication skills
