Job summary

TransAlta is seeking a Senior Analyst, Investor Relations to join the Corporate Strategy and Investor Relations team in Calgary. The role supports communicating strategy, performance and capital allocation to investors and the financial community from our Downtown Calgary Head Office.

You will work with senior leaders, contribute to quarterly disclosures and investor events, and translate complex market data into actionable insights supporting TransAlta’s market positioning.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance.
• CFA or CPA designation is considered an asset.
• 5+ years of experience in Investor Relations, equity research, corporate finance or related areas.
• Advanced proficiency in core office programs (MS Office Suite) and capable of learning key applications.
• Familiarity with FactSet, Bloomberg, Capital Access or similar platforms is a benefit along with capability to apply artificial intelligence.
• Advanced knowledge of capital markets, financial disclosure and accounting practices.
• Ability to communicate equity and capital market sentiments clearly.

Responsibilities

• Assist in shaping and executing the investor relations program and strategy.
• Deliver market intelligence to executives regarding stock moves and investor perceptions.
• Provide financial analysis including valuation metrics and peer comparisons.
• Coordinate quarterly earnings process and prepare disclosure materials and press releases.
• Track analyst valuation and compare to internal views.
• Maintain investor contacts in CRM databases and engage with investors.
