Job summary

Invest Alberta Corporation is seeking an Investment Attraction Advisor based in Houston, Texas. The role focuses on attracting foreign direct investment into Alberta by engaging investors, industry associations, and government partners, and by representing Alberta across North America.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in FDI, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to work independently in a collaborative, cross-jurisdictional environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of eight years of professional experience, including at least five years in foreign direct investment attraction or international business development.
• Experience working in U.S. and/or Canadian markets.
• Knowledge of Texas and North American market dynamics and investment landscape.

Responsibilities

• Identify and advance investment opportunities aligned with Alberta’s priorities.
• Develop and execute market outreach strategies to generate investor interest.
• Build and maintain relationships with investors, industry groups, and government partners.
• Represent Invest Alberta at conferences, meetings, and events across Texas and the United States.
• Support investor engagements, site visits, and business case development.
• Monitor market developments and provide strategic insights for business development.
• Collaborate with colleagues and partners to support opportunities and client needs.
• Maintain activity records and reporting to CRM systems and budgets.
