Job summary

The Town of The Blue Mountains is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Planner to manage mid to large scale development applications, including Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendments. This position requires MCIP and OPP designation and significant municipal planning experience.

The role offers a 12-month full-time contract with hybrid work options (remote up to 2 days/week) and a salary range of $84,293.20 to $121,231.94 per year, with strong benefits and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Requires a 4-year University degree in Urban & Regional Planning.
• Membership in the CIP and OPP and registered as a professional planner.
• Minimum of five years of planning work experience including municipal work.
• Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team with diplomacy.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor Planning Act and related policies for applications.
• Review development applications and prepare staff reports and amendments.
• Apply planning principles to amendments, subdivision and site plans.
• Provide advice on planning policies to diverse stakeholders.
• Lead public engagement and present at meetings as required.
• Prepare professional planning evidence for hearings.
