Job summary

Provencher Roy in Ottawa invites a Senior Interior Designer to lead a diverse portfolio across public and private sectors. You’ll guide projects from concept development through construction, mentor team members, and ensure design excellence and technical rigor.

The role seeks a designer with 8–10 years of experience, strong knowledge of codes, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. Hybrid work model and client-facing responsibilities are included.

Qualifications

• Registered Interior Designer and active member of ARIDO (Ontario)
• Must be eligible to obtain a federal Secret-level security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field
• Minimum of 8–10 years of professional experience
• Proven experience managing and delivering complex projects across multiple sectors
• Strong design sensibility with a portfolio demonstrating creativity and technical detail
• Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, accessibility standards, and regulations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp is a plus
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a bilingual (French/English) environment is an asset
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
• Ability to direct and coordinate work of staff
• Good understanding of contract furniture

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Interior Designer, you will play a key leadership role in the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects. You will contribute your expertise across all phases—from concept development through to construction—while mentoring team members and ensuring design excellence and technical rigor.

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with a high level of autonomy
• Participate in client presentations, proposals, and design reviews
• Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
• Mentor and support intermediate and junior designers, fostering a collaborative team environment
• Stay current with materials, technologies, and sustainability practices

• Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp and visualization tools are an asset)
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a bilingual (French/English) environment is considered an asset
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of other staff
• Good understanding of contract furniture
