Job summary

VGW is seeking a Senior Insights Analyst to join the Account Management Analytics team in Toronto. You will be a strategic data partner across Product and Revenue teams, analysing player behaviour to drive engagement, retention, and sustainable growth.

You will query large databases with SQL and Python, build self-serve dashboards, design and evaluate A/B tests, and translate business questions into data requirements for Data Engineering.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with SQL and Python and querying large databases.
• BA/MSc in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative fields.
• Proven track record in data science or analytics roles, preferably within gaming, mobile, technology or digital industries, with a focus on player analysis.

Responsibilities

• Analyze player behaviours and identify friction points to boost engagement and retention.
• Oversee virtual economy health, optimizing sink/faucet balances and reward mechanics for sustainable monetization.
• Query and manipulate complex, large-scale databases using SQL and Python to uncover patterns and deliver insights.

• Transform complex datasets into self-serve visuals and executive dashboards using BI tools.

Senior Insights Analyst (Player Analytics and Economy) VGW is an interactive entertainment company, harnessing technology and creativity to deliver world-class, free-to-play online social games.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Account Management Analytics team in Toronto and are currently looking for a Senior Insights Analyst to join the team.

As a Senior Insights Analyst, you will act as a strategic data partner across Product and Revenue teams, will collaborate with key stakeholders to understand and analyse our player behaviour and performance across our social gaming portfolio. Insights and analysis will directly shape the player experience, drive and optimise sustainable growth and profitability.

The salary range for this role is CAD 125,000.00 – CAD 138,500.00 per year.

What You’ll Do:

• Analyze player behaviors and identify critical friction points across our social gaming portfolio to boost engagement, personalization, and long-term retention.
• Oversee virtual economy health, optimizing sink/faucet balances and reward mechanics to ensure balanced gameplay and sustainable monetization.
• Query and manipulate complex, large-scale databases using SQL and Python to uncover patterns, segment audiences, and deliver high-value business insights.
• Ideate, execute, and evaluate A/B tests and experimentation frameworks to optimize player experience and product features.
• Transform complex datasets into intuitive, self-serve visuals and executive-level dashboards using modern BI tools.
• Translate ambiguous business challenges into technical specifications and data requirements for Data and Product Engineering teams.
• Partner with platform and data science teams on data ingestion, pipeline readiness, and predictive modeling or ML initiatives.
• Act as a strategic data partner to Marketing, Product, and Senior Leadership, translating data into clear, high-level business recommendations.

What You’ll Bring:

• 6+ years of experience with SQL, Python and experience querying and interpreting large databases.
• BA/MSc in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or other quantitative fields.
• Proven track record in data science or analytics roles, preferably within gaming, mobile, technology or digital industries, and with a focus on player analysis.
• Complex problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Significant experience with data visualization principles and techniques using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) to visualize results.
• Effectively connect data insights into clear recommendations for stakeholders and to improve business performance measurement and tracking.
• Working closely with non-technical stakeholders to translate business problems into technical solutions to collaborate with Data and Product Engineering teams.
• Confident at presenting and engaging with senior stakeholders, including C-suite level and other leaders across the company
