CIBC is seeking a Senior Information Security Specialist to consult on risk assessments, security controls, and project security delivery. You will partner with business and technology teams to identify risks and provide practical recommendations, while guiding security assessments before production go-live.
The role supports a hybrid work arrangement with 1–3 days on-site and remaining days remote, and requires experience in information security, threat-risk assessments, and cloud/Agile
As a member of CIBC’s CTPR team, you’ll play a crucial role in all matters of Information Security.
As a Senior Information Security Specialist you will be responsible for consulting on potential risks as well as current trends to help our technology and business stakeholders meet security goals and objectives. Utilizing your communication skills & relationship building skills, you will partner with line of business and technology teams and help identify potential risks and present recommendations that are practical and achievable. You’ll focus on assessing projects for security risks by examining and interpreting requirement documents, architecture diagrams and TRA questionnaire.

You can demonstrate experience in Information Security, Threat-risk assessments, Vulnerability & Penetration testing, and application security development projects. Familiarity with bank ecosystem and Cloud Computing technologies. Additionally, exposure to Agile Development processes, and certifications in CISSP, Offensive Security/CEH, CASE-E-Council or CSSLP is an asset but not mandatory. You understand the technical and business roadmap for Cybersecurity controls and partners with Cybersecurity control owners, architects and engineers to develop integration plans and deliverables.

Prior to starting in this role, security checks, including a criminal record check must be successfully completed to the satisfaction of CIBC. An annual criminal record check may also be required.
