Job summary

CBCL Limited in Fredericton, NB, is seeking an Intermediate to Senior Industrial Process Engineer with deep pulp and paper expertise to lead project delivery and client development.

You will provide technical leadership on complex industrial projects, contribute to feasibility studies through commissioning, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, or eligibility for registration with a provincial engineering association.
• 7+ years of experience in industrial process engineering, with expertise in pulp and paper, tissue manufacturing, forestry products, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of process design (PFDs, P&IDs, mass/energy balances, modelling, equipment selection).
• Experience leading feasibility studies, plant assessments, process optimization initiatives, and capital projects.
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering assignments for pulp and paper, forestry, tissue manufacturing, and other industrial facilities.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, process calculations, and reports.
• Provide technical leadership with mechanical, electrical, structural, civil, and automation teams.
• Support feasibility studies, plant assessments, optimization initiatives, and expansions.
• Conduct process assessments, troubleshooting, equipment evaluations, and performance reviews.
• Build client relationships and support proposals and business development.
• Provide construction, commissioning, and startup support; mentor junior engineers.
