Job summary

DIRTT Environmental Solutions in Calgary seeks a Senior Industrial Designer to mentor a team of Product Designers and drive the design vision from concept to implementation. You will collaborate with product managers, engineers, and researchers to deliver world‑class products within the DIRTT DNA.

You will lead design projects, create 3D models and manufacturing information, and promote Design for Manufacturing/Assembly and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Degree in Industrial Design or related design discipline.
• 10+ years of product design experience with a proven launch record.
• Strong portfolio showcasing diverse product designs.
• Experience in manufacturing and interior construction is a strong asset.
• Proficiency in 3D design tools and software listed above.

Responsibilities

• Mentor Product Designers and guide team success.
• Define design strategy and align with market and business goals.
• Identify opportunities for new products and enhancements.
• Collaborate with product managers to prioritize design projects.
• Generate innovative concepts aligned with user needs.
• Create CAD models, prototypes, and manufacturing documentation.
• Lead design reviews and solicit stakeholder feedback.
• Apply Design Thinking and Agile methods to projects.
• Work with engineering, production, and installation teams to refine designs.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices.
